What hospitality and food businesses actually need from a website

Hospitality websites do a different job to most. When someone finds a restaurant or bar like Alpha Street Kitchen in Cambridge or Fishtail in the South Island, they have usually already decided they are hungry. The site has seconds to confirm the place is open, show the menu, prove the food looks good, and make booking a table easy. We build for that moment: current hours, an up-to-date menu, real photos, and a booking link that works on a phone.

We have learned the menu is the most-visited page, so we never bury it in a slow PDF. It loads fast, reads well on a small screen, and you can update prices yourself without ringing us. The same goes for trading hours over public holidays. A wrong closing time on Google or your site sends people elsewhere, so we make the details easy for you to keep accurate.

Food businesses are not all front-of-house. The Daily Blend sells fruit smoothie vending, and 360 Foods manufactures product from concept to market. Their sites speak to wholesale buyers, stockists and partners, not walk-in diners. That means clear product information, compliance and supply details, and an obvious way to enquire. We build each food site around who is actually reading it.

Hospitality website questions we get asked

Can I update my own menu and prices?

Yes, and you should be able to. Menus change with seasons, suppliers and specials, so we build them so you can edit items and prices yourself in a few minutes. No waiting on us, no per-change fees. We set it up, walk you through it, and you keep it current. A menu that matches the kitchen is one of the simplest ways to keep people happy before they arrive.

Do I need online bookings on my restaurant website?

If you take table reservations, yes. Most people now book outside business hours, on their phone, when the idea strikes. A clear booking button beats a phone number that goes to voicemail at 9pm. We connect your site to whichever booking system suits your venue, or keep it simple with a request form if your numbers are low. The aim is fewer missed tables.

We supply or manufacture food rather than serve it. Is our website different?

Quite different. A wholesale or manufacturing site like 360 Foods is selling to buyers, stockists and distributors, not diners. The focus shifts to product specs, supply capability, food safety and compliance detail, and a straightforward enquiry path. We build the site around the buyer's questions so a serious enquiry can reach you without a phone call first.
